Current mood: confident
So, I haven't been slacking on blogging..contrary to appearances..

I've just been so busy, preoccupied, tied up, stressed and skiing....

Here's the deal.

In November I had Lasik and I was super psyched with the results. You have to understand that I have been wearing glasses or contacts since I was 11 and who knows how long my vision was bad before then. I was really, really happy with how well I could see. About three weeks after the procedure I started noticing some weird spots in my vision in my left eye. I was due to go back to the doc for my one month checkup, so I moved the appointment up a few days. I went in and the doc said my cornea was looking good and the Lasik was good but that I had an inflamation on my retina. He sent me to another doc.....a retinal specialist.

Long story short, retinal specialist said that I have Ocular Histoplasmosis. If you want the details click the link. What that basically means is that I have permanant retinal damage and permanant vision loss in my left eye. About two weeks of steroids took care of the inflamation, and the damage was stopped, but the loss is permanant. So stare at four lights with one eye for 15 seconds and then open the other eye and look around. Thats what it looks like.

Anyway, sucks...but it has been about two months now and I'm getting used to it. My brain and my right eye are compensating, and I only notice the spots occasionally.

Then, yes there are thens. Then I went in to the gyno for my yearly and they were doing a breast exam when the doc found a lump.

Sweet.

Another long story short. I'd never noticed it before so I was really worried. Went to another specialist for a mammogram, ultrasound and biopsy. BTW, nothing like a big needle getting stuck into your boob. Sorry guys, too many details I know. Anyway, after weeks of nightmares about having cancer I found out that I just have a lumpy boob. Nothing to worry about...and the doc said it had probably been there for years. Which would explain why I never noticed it....

Then, mom calls and tells me Charlie is sick. Third long story short, he has Lyme's disease...and then he got sicker. And the vet figured out he has hypothyrodism. None of his ailments are life threatening, but they are temporarily (hopefully) compromising his comfort level. We are just waiting for the meds to kick in....

But for now, my little guy who is supposed to look like this:

Now looks like this little sausage.

Lastly....oh alright thats all for the bitching.

I have, however, been skiing a lot. This season has been absolutely epic and we have had about 250 inches of snow since December 1st.

Work has been keeping me busy, but I have been enjoying working with everyone and the challenges I've been facing.

I am still crunching away at school. I decided to change my major from Business Management (already have that down, why the hell would I pay for it?) to Multimedia and Visual Communications. Gonna get this web design business down and make some dough on the side.

Finally, I've been taking some pictures. I'm not going to narrate....just enjoy.

And finally.....for all the skiers out there. And for anyone just impressed by the amazing, watch this video. I will say it's pretty brutal, but in the end he only sustained minor injuries after losing conciousness when he hit his head and destroyed his helmet in the crash.

Incredible.
