Wow, has it really been that long?

Ok, so I have been seriously slacking on this blogging business. Who knew I would find this so time consuming....or maybe it's that I have so little time. Oh wait, its that I am so poor at managing my time.

Well, anyway. Since the last post, I have finished working for the canoe company. I road tripped from WI to UT via CO. Didn't spend nearly as much time on the road as I had intended, but the weather wasn't great, and I was impatient to find a place to live.

So here I am in UT yet again. What is this, winter number 8? I never would have guessed that I would stick around so long. Well, I have been here about a week and a half, and not much has happened . Ok, so somebody stole my mountain bike right off the TOP OF MY FRICKIN TRUCK. Lame. They left the road bike. Anyone out there considering stealing.....learn the difference in value in whatever you are going to steal. Not that I'm glad my bike was stolen, but I am glad that the beat $1200 mountain bike was stolen over the $4000 carbon fiber road bike that was on the rack too. Stupid people.

What else? Oh, I found a place to live. House, 5 bedrooms, convenient to the canyons and the bus route...so far one housemate, looking for 3 more. Not too worried about it though. There have been several guys through here the last few days, and a few were interested.

Thats right, guys. Only one call from a woman, and she wanted to live with her boyfriend (drama) and split the rent (no way) for one room. Uh, no.

So looks like I will be spending the winter living in a house full of guys again. Oh well, I guess life could suck more. :)

Ok, next time I will post pics. Really.

Bye

Just another lame post...

Alright, so this fast paced Wisconsin lifestyle has gotten the best of me. I just haven't had time to post. Or I just had too much time and didn't post. Maybe that was it.

Viroqua's Wild West Days.

This is the first rodeo I have ever been to, and I'm pretty sure the bulls won.

Miles adopted a new little boy. Made me drive him to the pound to pick him up.

He and Miles get along really well, too well really.

Charlie.

So, you are going to get a small barrage of random photos from the last month. Above, Wisconsin State Fair.....the sheep barn. Where PETA when you need them. Walmart must have had a closeout on fabric.

Mom stuffing her face with the best damned creampuffs ever to exist. If she had been holding the camera, you would have seen me doing the same, only messier with the whipped cream.

No comment is neccesary for this one.............

Juvenile eagle on the Wisconsin River.

For all of you who were skeptical about this so called frog jump I participated in throughout my childhood....ha! Its real! I had a chance to get to Dousman Derby Days for the first time in 10 years. I was pretty excited to see alot of family and high school friends that I haven't seen in forever...literally.

Grandma and Grandpa Books just picked up this little furball. Doesn't even have a name yet....

Another trip down the might Wisconsin River, this time from Lone Rock to Boscobel (29 miles).
Here are a bunch of pictures from my trip with 10 girls and 4 counselors from a Peoria, IL Girl Scout Camp. This trip was the best one yet. The girls were sweet, we swam alot and had fun, and we saw eagles everywhere. Even had an eagle screeching in a tree over camp wake us up the second morning.

Finally had a chance to get away from work and school! My brother Thomi, his girlfriend Megan and I went to Summerfest on July 6th. It was a beautiful day, not too hot, with ALOT of choices for music. We managed to catch Spearhead, Yonder Mountain String Band, Keller Williams and a little bit of New Monsoon. Missed Big Wu, String Cheese and Umphrey's McGee. We couldn't possibly see them all, and many of them were scheduled at the same time! YMSB was so much fun.....their 2+ hour set felt like 30 minutes. They could have played for hours, and I would have kept dancing. Most of the bands were at Summerfest as part of the Big Summer Classic Tour. I am so glad I had a chance to see them at Summerfest. I hadn't been in 10 years, and I had a RIOT!

It's thundering and wind is blowing.....
and we are under another severe thunderstorm watch.
Oooh, my favorite! Storms at night. I suppose I will live.

Another trip on the Wisconsin River has come and gone, this time with 11 kids (and two counselors) from an unnamed very affluent neighborhood in the suburbs of Chicago.

For the love of god, parents of the universe! Please teach your children how to communicate effectively with one another. Teach your children the meaning of respect for each other. These 12 & 13 year old boys and girls communicated by complaining, criticizing, yelling and being downright mean to each other. I'm pretty sure they had no idea that the world did not revolve around them.

But anyway, the weather was beautiful, a few of the kids were really sweet, and I enjoyed spending another great night on the river.

I snapped a few more pictures, and this time I didn't erase them.

Oh yea! Ok, so you are not going to believe me, but there is a mountain lion that has been hanging around the Hog's Back. Really! Well, I don't have any visual proof, but I have heard it cry twice and so have others. Upon a little research, Mom found a link to the vocals of a cougar. I listened to the .wav files, and realized that I have been hearing this animal chirping for weeks. Now there is a possibility this is a bobcat (or something else,) but the cougar sounds sound more accurate.

WI just became a little cooler. :)

The aliens came after me the other night....

Ok, well actually, I was on the river for the largest apparent full moon in something like 18 years. Summer solstice on the Wisconsin River during the full moon gives plenty of photo opportunities. If only I hadn't accidentally erased most of the photos off of my digital camera.

So, after I managed to erase the most pheonominal sunset photos ever recorded in human history...ok, ok, maybe the most pheonominal sunset photos I've ever taken, I was able to salvage a few others.

This is the campsite I chose on the second night of the trip. I'd show you the camp on the first night, but damnit, I'm obsessed with the delete command.

Look we have eagles in Wisconsin! Only they are fuzzy and out of focus!

Alright, I promise to do my best to take some decent pictures, and to avoid erasing them before I can post them. Really.

I really wish I could capture an image of the THOUSANDS of fireflies in the yard on these hot and humid nights. My camera doesn't quite have the capability.....

Speaking of hot and humid...

The heat index was 114 degrees on Thursday!
